Reflection: The Layang Layang Museum
To say the truth I was expecting the 'layang layang' museum to be a place I would have never wanted to go to as it was a kite museum. But it was later that I realised the museum was beautiful! There were many sorts of kites and patterns. My favourite kite was the one in the shape of a peacock, as we all know the peacock is an exquisite bird and elagant one too and that it would be very difficult to make that kite. But inspite that the kite makers have made it hence, hats off to them! There was also another kite that i liked, it was the kinte which had a merlion on it! It was one of it's kind! Actually another name for the 'layang layang' museum is the 'Pasir Gudang Kite Museum'. It was opened in 2002 February, during the 7th Pasir Gudang Kite Festival, which was opened as an appreciation to Malaysian & International kite-flyers. This museum houses a wide collection of traditional kite heritage known as 'wau', which comes from the malay vocabulary 'wouw' meaning kite. the name 'wau' was also derived from the hummer of the kite. Speaking about hummer, there was a demonstration on how the hummer worked. It was simply amazing what they can do with just bamboo and a type of leaf! There was also another demonstration, it was on how they make kite. It takes alot of patience! There were so many things to do! Basically, the museum made me take back my words, it proved me wrong and i was happy that it did. I'm glad the museum turned out to be a wonderful place. I really enjoyed the Johor trip! It was very fun!
